Rev. Dr. Burchell Taylor Rev. Dr. Burchell Taylor is Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Half Way Tree, Kingston, Jamaica. He is involved in leading seminars, addressing conferences, presenting papers and leading Studies in Bible and related subjects, both locally and internationally. He has served as Baptist chaplain to the University of the West Indies, Member of the Baptist World Alliance Commission on Ethics and Communication and member of the Jamaica Council of Churches executive. A part time lecturer at the United Theological College of the West Indies and St. Michael's Seminary (Roman Catholic), he holds a Bachelor of Divinity from London University, Master of Arts (Theology) from Oxford University and a Ph D - Theology from the University of Leeds. In October 2000, he was awarded the Order of Jamaica - Commander of Distinction for Eminence in the field of Theology. He is in great demand as a speaker for conferences and seminars. Pastor Taylor has served as Pastor since 1970. His wife Ann has served as Sunday School Superintendent and currently is the Librarian. They have three sons and one grandchild. Rev. Michael Shim-Hue Associate Pastor Rev. Michael Shim-Hue has served since 1997 at Bethel. He serves as the Pastor for the Greater Portmore Baptist Church, which was planted by Bethel. Current plans are underway for the construction of a 600 seating Chapel with facilities to cater to the needs of the Greater Portmore Community |
